An internet sensation, Jackie, retells her rise to fame and the controversial deaths surrounding it. As she recounts the events that happened, she uses her social prowess to manipulate her follower's opinions, essentially and literally getting away with murder.
Our "hero," Jackie has become a victim in our new era of social media, addiction to the likes. I feel this is something a lot of our younger generations have gone through, myself included. It feels good to be seen and heard. But when that attention turns sour, what are you willing to do or say to fix it?
Celebrity Status is a thrilling tale of manipulation, untrustworthy narrators, and the real power internet fame can give you. Our “hero” Jackie puts on a sexy, friendly, and upbeat appearance, to hide her true two-faced nature. She’s willing to say whatever it takes to prove that she’s not the culprit, but the victim.
Celebrity Status is currently a Proof of Concept Short Film being submitted on the film festival brackets.
A full feature script is completed and registered under the W.G.A.
